Central Committee members help connect Democrats in their precinct and support the party by:
Attending meetings, events, and caucuses
Registering new voters and recruiting volunteers
Assisting with fundraising and party activities
Sharing information fairly with all Democratic candidates
Representing their precinct at conventions and special events

Iowa is divided into four congressional districts for elections to the U.S. House of Representatives.
The 2nd District covers northeastern Iowa, including cities like Cedar Rapids, Cedar Falls and Waterloo. If you live in this area, you are part of Iowa’s 2nd District.Your district determines which U.S. House member represents you in Congress and which candidates appear on your ballot for that seat.
-
Depending on the election year, you may be able to vote on:
Federal offices
U.S. President (every 4 years)
U.S. House of Representatives (the Iowa 2nd District seat, every 2 years)
U.S. Senate (statewide; seats are staggered, so not every election)
State offices
Governor and other statewide officials (such as Secretary of State or Attorney General, depending on the year)
Iowa State Legislature
Iowa House Representative
Iowa State Senator
(These depend on your specific address.)
Local offices
County officials (such as supervisors)
City officials (mayor, city council)
School boards and other local boards
Other items
Ballot measures or local referendums, if any are on the ballot
-
Your address determines which district you’re in, and that determines who represents you and what choices appear on your ballot.
